Holding a Master’s Degree in Psychology and practicing as a School Counselor in rural Western Washington, I understand the effects of trauma on the healthy development of children both from a personal and professional perspective. With passion, I advocate for the safety of all my students. I am committed to speaking out against abuse and supporting children in finding their own, strong voice. In May 2013, along with some of my childhood gymnastics teammates, I testified before the State Senate on behalf of the California Victims’ Act vocalizing the importance of eliminating the statute of limitations on child sexual abuse crimes. In recognition of my advocacy work, The Foundation for Global Sports Development honored my teammates and me with the 2018 Humanitarian Award. My husband, two children, and I live near Mount Rainier, and enjoy our country lifestyle with our three dogs and two cats.
